Deadpool is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe. He first appeared in the comic -The New Mutants- in 1991 and was created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist/writer Rob Liefeld. Deadpool is known for his sarcastic sense of humor, breaking the fourth wall, and his ability to regenerate from injuries. He is a mercenary who goes by the name Wade Wilson, and he gained his superhuman abilities after being subjected to a rogue experiment that left him disfigured but also gave him accelerated healing powers. Deadpool has become a popular character in comics, movies, and other media, and is often portrayed as an antihero who takes on missions for his own personal gain.
